Soccer Timing FAQs

What soccer drills can I time with Freelap?

Freelap helps you time acceleration, sprint speed, splits, repeat efforts, and change-of-direction drills. Arrange the transmitters around the drill you already coach, then review each player’s results in MyFreelap.

Which Soccer Timing Kit should I choose?

Choose the Tx Pro Team Starter Kit 111 for individual players, private coaching, or smaller groups that mainly need a simple start-to-finish setup. Choose the Tx Pro Team Starter Kit 512 when you are testing a larger team or need intermediate times within the drill. The 111 includes one FxChip BLE and belt; the 512 includes five FxChip BLE chips and five belts. If you are unsure which setup matches your session, contact us before ordering and we will help you confirm the right system.

Do I need one chip for every player?

No. When players run one at a time, they can share a chip using MyFreelap’s roster, and each result can still be saved to the correct player. We recommend approximately one chip for every three to four players to keep the session moving. To time two or more players at once, give each player a chip. Freelap automatically identifies whose time is whose—without calling out names, writing down results, or sorting them later.

Can Freelap time change-of-direction drills?

Yes. Position the transmitters to match the start, direction changes, split points, and finish of the drill. Freelap records the timing points automatically, so you can compare complete drill times and, when the setup includes them, intermediate segments.

Can I expand my soccer timing system later?

Yes. Start with the chips and timing points your current sessions require, then add compatible chips, transmitters, and accessories as your group or testing needs grow. Confirm compatibility before combining products from different Freelap system families.

Can Freelap handle team testing without manual data entry?

Yes. Results are sent to MyFreelap and can be organized by player, rep, and session. Unique chips also allow multiple players to be timed simultaneously while keeping each result correctly identified.
